The Kalamazoo Meditation Group is composed of members and friends of Self-Realization Fellowship, a worldwide nonprofit religious organization with international headquarters in Los Angeles. It was founded in 1920 by Paramahansa Yogananda for the purpose of disseminating Kriya Yoga, a definite scientific technique for attaining direct personal experience of God.
Through its worldwide service and teachings, Self-Realization Fellowship seeks to awaken greater understanding of the harmony underlying all true religions, and a fuller expression in this world of the love that unites all people when they realize their oneness in God.

After meeting since 1972 in members' homes or rented facilities, a Kalamazoo Meditation Group devotee deeded land on which to build our own chapel. The building, located at 51755 30th St. in Paw Paw, MI, was completed in 1997. Many devotees donated funds, time, and effort to the project, and much of the loving work that went into the building is pictured below.
